Miley Ray Cyrus's birthname is Destiny Hope Cyrus. Tish Cyrus (mother) and Billy Ray Cyrus (father) brought her up in Thompson's Station. Miley has five brothers and sisters - two older siblings and a younger sibling. The family named her Miley as she was a great hope for the children. Miley was changed to Smiley when she was a child and was rewarded because of her cheerful nature. Her maternal great-grandfather was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus went to Heritage Elementary School, Tennessee. Cyrus together with her parents, relocated to Toronto Canada at the age of 8 when she turned eight. Their father Billy Ray played a character in the TV series Doc. Cyrus began her acting career during the same time. Her first performance was alongside her dad in Doc (2001). She also starred in a minor part in Tim Burton's Big Fish. Cyrus was on Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show about a teenage girl who leads a double-life as a performer) as the lead character. Her father was once again alongside the show. This was an instant hit with sold-out tours as well as hit record and deals with merchandise followed. Cyrus was a teenage superstar. Cyrus has appeared in Hannah Montana (2006) and The Last Song (2010) with Demi Moore, moved on to different parts.
